4.4.1 Maximum temperature anomalies

Warmer than average maximum temperature anomalies were observed over much of the Greater Horn of Africa sub-region (GHA) during September 2008 (Figure 5a) with parts of northern and northwestern and eastern Sudan; western and southern Ethiopia; northern and southern Kenya as well as parts of northern Tanzania recording anomalies greater than 2oC. Parts of southern Burundi, western Tanzania; northern and central Somalia; eastern Ethiopia observed cooler than average maximum temperature with anomalies of more than 1°C.«top
