Temperature
- Warmer than usual conditions expected over most parts of the region.
- Normal to cooler than normal conditions expected in parts of north-eastern Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, central Sudan, and north-eastern Uganda.
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over most parts of Sudan, south-eastern and western South Sudan, Uganda, western and coastal Kenya, south-western to northern Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Djibouti.
- Drier than usual conditions expected over few places in eastern and western Ethiopia, north-eastern and central South Sudan.
- The rest of the region is generally dry during the month of August.
