Rainfall
Temperature

All parts of the region showed warmer than the average maximum temperature. Maximum temperature mean difference exceeding 2°C is in western and eastern Sudan, northern Ethiopia, central and southern Eritrea, northeastern Somalia, northwestern South Sudan, in central Uganda, northern Burundi, and in western and southwestern Tanzania.

Minimum temperature cooler than the long-term mean was observed in the north-central Sudan, in eastern and southeastern Ethiopia, in northwestern and central parts of Somalia, in southern Burundi, and in northwestern parts of Tanzania.
Much of the rest of the rest of the region experienced minimum temperature that is warmer than the long-term average.

Moderate to high rainfall amounts of between 500-1000mm were observed in northwestern and western parts of Ethiopia, in western parts of South Sudan, and in parts of western and central Kenya.
Moderate rainfall between 100 - 500 mm was observed in southern parts of Sudan, in western and southwestern Eritrea, in western, northern and central parts of Ethiopia, in several parts of South Sudan and Uganda, in parts of western, central and coastal Kenya, and in coastal parts of Tanzania.
Light rainfall between 10 - 100 mm was observed in western, central to eastern Sudan, in coastal, central and southern Eritrea, in several parts of Djibouti and Somalia, in northeastern, eastern and southeastern Ethiopia, in southwestern Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, in northern, eastern and southeastern Kenya, and in northern, northeastern, eastern and southern Tanzania.
No rainfall or less than 10mm was observed in northern parts of Sudan, and in central and western Tanzania.

Drier than usual and much drier than usual conditions were observed in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, in southern parts of Somalia, in southwestern Uganda, in western and northwestern Tanzania, and in southeastern Kenya.
Wetter than usual and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in southeastern, and central to western Sudan, in northeastern, southern and southeastern Ethiopia, in northeastern and central western Somalia, in areas in north, central to south-central Kenya, and in southeastern Tanzania.
No rain condition was observed in northern Sudan.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.

Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, in northwestern, western and central Tanzania, in southeastern Kenya, in several parts of Uganda, in southern and parts of northern Somalia, in parts of western and eastern Ethiopia, in several isolated parts of western, central, northern southern South Sudan, in parts of eastern Djibouti, coastal and southern Eritrea, and in parts of western, eastern and south-central Sudan.
Moderate to extremely wet rainfall conditions were observed in southeastern, and central to western Sudan, in western Eritrea, in parts of northwestern, eastern, central, southern and southeastern Ethiopia, in parts of northeastern Somalia, in several parts of north-central, central and south-central Kenya, and in southeastern Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
