Rainfall
High Rainfall Accumulation Highest Rainfall (101–200mm)
- These amounts were recorded in southwestern Ethiopia, southwestern parts of Kenya, and a few parts in Tanzania.
Moderate to high Rainfall of between (26-100mm)
- These were observed southwestern Ethiopia, southern parts of Kenya, southern parts of Somalia, several parts of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and several parts of Tanzania.
Moderate to Low Rainfall of between (6mm–25mm)
- These were observed in northern Uganda, southern South Sudan, Ethiopia, eastern parts of Kenya, and southwestern Somalia.
- Very Low or No Rain Very Low Rainfall (1–5mm): These were observed in much of the northern sectors of the region including Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.
Wetter than Normal to much wetter than normal Conditions
- Much wetter than Normal: This category was observed in much of Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, southern tip of Somalia, southern Ethiopia and coastal areas in Djibouti.
- Wetter than Normal: This category was observed in areas surrounding the darkest green areas, covering most of countries highlighted above.
Near Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed in Uganda, southeastern South Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia and a few parts in southern Tanzania.
Drier Than Normal Conditions
- These conditions were observed in northern Uganda, South Sudan, several parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, western Djibouti, and Somalia.
No Rain
- Observed in the very northern and the dry parts of the region, particularly in Sudan, northern South Sudan, eastern Eritrea, northwestern and eastern Ethiopia, and several parts of Somalia.
