Rainfall
Wetter than Normal to much wetter than normal Conditions
- Much wetter than Normal: This category was observed over southwestern and southern parts of Sudan, northwestern parts of Sudan and the border region of Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea and Ethiopia.
- Wetter than Normal: This category was observed in areas surrounding the darkest green areas including in Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan and Sudan.
Near Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed along the coastal parts of Kenya, and Somalia, as well as in South Sudan, Sudan, western Eritrea, Ethiopia and northern Somalia.
Much Drier and Drier than Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan, Sudan, Djibouti and Eritrea.
No Rain
- Observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, southeastern and northeastern Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, some parts of Eritrea and northern parts of Sudan.
High Rainfall Accumulation (101-300mm)
- High Rainfall (101-200mm): These amounts were recorded in a few areas in western Ethiopia.
Moderate to high Rainfall (26-100mm)
- These were predominantly observed in southern and southwestern parts of Sudan, western South Sudan, western Ethiopia and a few areas along the coastal parts of Kenya.
Moderate to Low Rainfall of between (6mm–25mm)
- These were observed along the coastal parts of Tanzania, Kenya and Somalia, central to western parts of Kenya, several parts of Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia, western Eritrea and northern Somalia.
- Very Low or No Rain Very Low Rainfall: These were observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, southern parts of Uganda, several parts of Kenya, southeastern and northeastern parts of Ethiopia, several parts of Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea and Sudan.
