GHACOF 73 to take place on 18– 19 May 2026 in Addis Ababa
Theme: Climate Services for Resilience and Sustainable Development
Sub-theme: Enhancing Early Warning and Anticipatory Action for Climate Extremes in the Greater Horn of Africa
The IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), in collaboration with Member States and partners, will convene the 73rd Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF 73). The forum will present the regional seasonal climate outlook for June to September (JJAS) 2026 season and support early warning and preparedness across the Greater Horn of Africa.
The forum will be preceded by:
- A pre-GHACOF 73 webinar with the relevant sectoral institutions: 6th May 2026
- A pre-GHACOF 73 Climate Prediction Development Workshop with regional experts from NMHSs: 11–15 May 2026
