GHACOF 70: Climate Services for Closing the Early Warning Gap Together
The IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), in collaboration with partners, is organising the 70th Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF 70) to be held from the 19th to 20th of May 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Hybrid format).
Theme: Climate Services for Closing the Early Warning Gap Together
This forum will bring together climate scientists, policymakers, researchers, development partners, private sector and sectoral users to:
- Reflect on the performance and impacts of the March to May 2025 season.
- Present the regional climate outlook for the June-September 2025 season.
- Discuss the implications of the JJAS 2025 climate forecast and management strategies.
The forum will be preceded by the climate prediction development workshop organised from the 12th to 17th of May 2025 and co-production workshops with key sectors (agriculture, water, energy, health, livestock, media and disaster risk management) on the 16th of May 2025.
