GMES & Africa- Training on Harnessing Earth Observation for Environmental Monitoring
ICPAC and the Regional Centre for Mapping and Resources Development (RCMRD) organized a GMES & Africa Programme training in East Africa. The training focused on using Earth Observation (EO) technologies to address deforestation, habitat loss, and land degradation.
Participants from Madagascar including government officials, natural resource managers, land use planners, and environmental scientists, learned to use EO data for environmental monitoring. The training promoted sustainable environmental management and fostered regional collaboration, equipping attendees with practical skills in data processing and analysis.
This event successfully enhanced participants' abilities to support sustainable environmental management in the region.
