- Warmer than usual conditions expected over most part of the region.
- Cooler than normal conditions expected over the central areas of Somalia.
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over most parts of Sudan, central to eastern and north-western South Sudan, eastern Uganda, western and coastal Kenya, central to northern Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, and north-western and southern coastal Somalia.
- Drier than usual conditions expected over part of western Ethiopia, north-western Uganda, few areas in western South Sudan, and parts of southern Sudan.
- The rest of the region is generally dry during th month of July.
