Meet the Winners of the ICPAC Youth for Climate Action Campaign 2025

The IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) is proud to announce the winners of the Youth for Climate Action Campaign 2025, a regional initiative celebrating young people across the IGAD region who are using their voices, creativity, and leadership to champion climate solutions.
The campaign received a total of 254 entries from passionate young climate champions who are actively involved in creating awareness, implementing climate-smart solutions, and advocating for resilience in their communities. After a rigorous evaluation process by a dedicated panel, the following individuals emerged as the top three in each category:

- Aakphotography – Kenya
Videography
- Najib Ahmed – Somalia
- Henok Kinde – Ethiopia
- Adelaide Jachi – Tanzania
Under 18 Category
- Naomi Momone – South Sudan
- Caleb Mutai – Kenya
- Stephen Mboya – Kenya
Ages 18–24
- Esther Muhindo – Uganda
- Mohamed Hassan – Kenya
- Dawit Ademe – Ethiopia
Ages 25–35
- Jatani Bonaya – Ethiopia
- Emmanuel Mwita – Kenya
- Lynnette Kawira – Kenya
The first-place winners in each category will travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend GHACOF 70, where they will be formally recognised and receive their awards during the official ceremony.
