Temperature
- High daily-mean temperatures above 30˚C expected over north eastern Ethiopia bordering Eritrea.
- Moderate daily-mean temperatures between 26˚C and 30˚C expected over northern and eastern Kenya; eastern to southern Tanzania; south eastern Ethiopia, much of Somalia, much of South Sudan, and southern parts of Sudan.
- Moderate to low daily-mean temperatures of 20˚C or less expected over central, western, and parts of northern Ethiopia; central and western Kenya; much of Sudan, parts of Rwanda, Burundi, south western tip of Uganda and few areas in Tanzania.
Alert
The risk of flooding continues to be high, preparedness and early actions are highly advised. Follow up with National Meteorological Departments for localized and more detailed updates.
- Very heavy rainfall above 200mm expected over much of central, southern, and localized areas in south western Tanzania; over much of Burundi, extending to parts of Rwanda.
- Moderate to high rainfall 50mm or above expected over much of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Somalia, south eastern parts of South Sudan, much of Ethiopia and Tanzania.
- The rest of the region is expected to record below 10 mm of rainfall or remain dry.
