Assessing the Formal and Informal Risk Transfer and Micro-Insurance Mechanisms in the Horn Of Africa Region
The IGAD's Food Security, Nutrition and Resilience Analysis Hub (IFRAH), was established in mid-2018 and tasked with galvanising and developing capacities for timely generation, analysis, and communication of integrated food security, nutrition, and resilience information to inform decision making for humanitarian, resilience, development and peace building actions undertaken by Member States, IDDRSI and other partners. The Hub is hosted at IGAD's Climate Prediction and Application Centre (ICPAC), a specialised institution of IGAD. IFRAH was formed through a merger between the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), Food Security and Nutrition Working Group (FSNWG) and Resilience Analysis Unit (RAU).
IFRAH seeks to engage a consultant who will assess the existing formal and informal risk transfer and micro-insurance mechanisms, analyse their respective advantages and disadvantages, and their potential applicability in the IGAD Region.
