Assessing the Formal and Informal Risk Transfer and Micro-Insurance Mechanisms in the Horn Of Africa Region

The IGAD's Food Security, Nutrition and Resilience Analysis Hub (IFRAH), was established in mid-2018 . The Hub is hosted at IGAD's Climate Prediction and Application Centre (ICPAC), a specialised institution of IGAD. IFRAH was formed through a merger between the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), Food Security and Nutrition Working Group (FSNWG) and Resilience Analysis Unit (RAU).

IFRAH seeks to engage a consultant who will assess the existing formal and informal risk transfer and micro-insurance mechanisms, analyse their respective advantages and disadvantages, and their potential applicability in the IGAD Region.
