Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected in most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA).
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected in coastal parts of Kenya and Somalia.
Rainfall anomalies
- Drier than usual conditions expected over most parts of Tanzania.
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over parts of southern Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, south-western South Sudan and western Uganda.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy (top 10%) rainfall expected over isolated areas of southern Tanzania.
Mean temperatures
- Hot temperatures (above 32 ℃) expected over eastern South Sudan and Gambela region of Ethiopia.
- Moderate to hot temperatures (20 - 32 ℃) expected over most parts of southern Sudan, central to western South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, northern and eastern Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
- Mild conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, northern Somalia, and western regions of Rwanda and Burundi.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over Rwanda, Burundi, and western to southern Tanzania.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over central Ethiopia, southern Uganda, central to southern South Sudan, northern and central Tanzania, and south-western Kenya.
- Dry conditions expected over most parts of Sudan, northern and eastern South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, eastern Tanzania, eastern and northern Kenya and north-eastern Uganda.
