Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected in most parts of southern and eastern Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, central to northern Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, central to northern Tanzania, western Kenya, and northern Somalia.
- Colder than usual temperatures predicted over parts of northern Sudan, north-eastern Kenya, southern Ethiopia, southern Somalia, and coastal Tanzania.
Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over the cross-border regions of northern Kenya-southern Ethiopia, central to northern Uganda, and central South Sudan.
- Drier than usual conditions forecasted over most parts of Tanzania, Burundi, central to southern Kenya, and southern Somalia.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy (top 10-5%) rainfall expected over parts of southern Ethiopia into northern Kenya, and a few places in south-western Uganda.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate temperatures (20 - 32 ℃) expected over most parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, eastern and northern Kenya, eastern Ethiopia, central to northern Uganda, and Tanzania.
- Cold conditions (less than 20℃) expected in parts of north-eastern Sudan, southern to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, and a few regions in northern Somalia, south-western Uganda, western Rwanda, and Burundi.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over south-eastern Ethiopia into northern Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, western Kenya, and central South Sudan.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over most parts of Somalia into eastern and southern Kenya, north-western and coastal Tanzania, northern and southern South Sudan, and parts of southern Ethiopia.
- Dry conditions expected over Sudan, Eritrea, northern Ethiopia, and central to southern Tanzania.
