- Warmer than usual temperatures are expected in most parts of the region, except Sudan, South Sudan and Ethiopia border regions, western Tanzania and over localized areas in the rift valley region where temperatures are expected to be colder than usual.
- Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ are expected in most parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, north-eastern and south-eastern Ethiopia, eastern and northern Kenya, central to northern Uganda, and most parts of Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ are expected in central Ethiopia, parts of central to western Kenya, south-western regions of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and a few regions in southern and northern Tanzania.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10-5% on record) is expected in limited regions over Bakool and Hiraan in Somalia, western Benshangul Gumuz and southern Somali regions in Ethiopia, Narok county in Kenya, and Arusha in Tanzania.
Headline: Heavy rainfall predicted in isolated regions in southern Somalia, western Ethiopia and south-western Kenya.
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10 - 5% on record) is expected in limited regions over Bakool and Hiraan in Somalia, western Benshangul Gumuz and southern Somalia regions in Ethiopia, Narok county in Kenya and Arusha in Tanzania.
- Moderate rainfall between 50 - 100 mm expected in central and western South Sudan, few regions in western and southern Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, south-western Kenya to western Tanzania, and southern Somalia.
- Light rainfall of less than 30 mm is expected over southern Sudan, parts of northern and south-eastern South Sudan, eastern and northern Uganda, southern Kenya, southern Ethiopia, central Somalia, and coastal and central Tanzania.
- Dry conditions are expected in Sudan, eastern and northern Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, northern Somalia, northern Kenya, and parts of southern Somalia.
