Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over central to northern and eastern Ethiopia, isolated areas in western South Sudan, central to northern Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi, western Kenya, and north-western Tanzania.
- Drier than usual conditions expected over eastern Kenya, eastern and southern Tanzania, south-eastern and western Ethiopia, southern Somalia, and most parts of South Sudan.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures forecasted over south-western parts of Sudan, south-western and north-eastern South Sudan, most parts of Tanzania, and central and northern Somalia.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over central to northern Sudan, eastern Kenya and, the highland areas of Kenya and Ethiopia.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10%-5%) rainfall expected over central to northern Somalia, central and northern to eastern Ethiopia, isolated areas in western Kenya, and Rwanda.
Mean temperatures
- Hot temperatures (above 32 ℃) expected over southern Sudan and into neighbouring northern parts of South Sudan.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20 - 32℃) expected over most parts of Sudan, South Sudan, most parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, northern and eastern Kenya, Uganda, and most of Tanzania.
- Mild conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and isolated areas in southern and northern Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over Burundi, Rwanda, western, northern, and eastern Uganda, north-western Tanzania, central to western Kenya, coastal and central to northern Somalia, central to northern and eastern Ethiopia, and western South Sudan.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over central parts of Uganda, most parts of South Sudan, isolated areas in Tanzania, north-western Kenya, Djibouti, Eritrea, and isolated parts in southern and northern Somalia.
- Dry conditions expected over Sudan, eastern Kenya, western Ethiopia, and parts of central to southern Tanzania.
