Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over south-western, central to northern parts of Ethiopia, most of eastern parts of Kenya, western Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures forecast over most parts of Sudan, northern South Sudan, central parts of Somalia, eastern and northern Ethiopia, parts of central and southern Tanzania.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over north-eastern and south-western Kenya, south-eastern South Sudan, isolated parts of Ethiopia, parts of Uganda, and isolated parts in northern Somalia.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10%-5%) rainfall expected over north-eastern and south-western parts of Ethiopia, parts of eastern Kenya, as well as southern and eastern Tanzania.
Mean temperatures
- Hot temperatures (above 32℃) expected over north-eastern parts of South Sudan.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20 - 32℃) expected over Sudan, southern and western South Sudan, eastern and southern Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, northern and eastern Kenya, Uganda, and most parts of Tanzania.
- Mild conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and isolated areas in southern and northern Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Heavy rainfall (more than 200mm) expected over southern parts of Tanzania.
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over south-western to eastern Ethiopia, southern, central to north-eastern Kenya, western Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, and most parts of Tanzania.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over central to southern Somalia, south-eastern Ethiopia, central to southern South Sudan, Djibouti, eastern Uganda, and parts of eastern and north-western Kenya.
- Dry conditions expected over Sudan, northern South Sudan, most parts of Eritrea, western Ethiopia, central to northern Somalia, and parts of Djibouti.
