Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, eastern and southern parts of South Sudan, northern Uganda, and southern Tanzania.
- Cooler than usual temperatures predicted over central to northern Sudan and parts of eastern Kenya.
Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected in coastal and south-western Kenya, western and northern Burundi, Rwanda, and central parts of Tanzania.
- Drier than usual conditions expected over parts of western and north-western Tanzania.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate temperatures (20 - 32 ℃) expected over southern parts of Sudan, South Sudan, central to northern Uganda, much of Tanzania, northern and eastern Kenya, and most parts of Somalia, Djibouti, south-eastern and north-eastern Ethiopia, and western and coastal parts of Eritrea.
- Cold conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Sudan, central parts of Ethiopia and Eritrea, parts of northern Somalia, southern Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, central to western Kenya, and isolated areas in south-western Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over central and western parts of Tanzania, western Burundi, and Rwanda.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over coastal and south-western Kenya, southern Uganda, eastern Rwanda, northern and north-eastern parts of Tanzania, the Red Sea coast of Somalia, and Eritrea.
- Dry conditions expected over Sudan, South Sudan, most parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, northern Uganda, central to northern Kenya, and parts of central Somalia.
