Temperature anomalies

Warmer than average temperatures expected over parts of northern Sudan, isolated parts in western South Sudan, most parts of Ethiopia, central to northern Somalia, western Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and parts of northern Uganda.
Near-average temperatures expected over central Sudan, northern South Sudan, eastern Kenya, and south-western Somalia.
Colder than average temperatures predicted over isolated areas in northern Ethiopia, central and southern Sudan, and eastern South Sudan.

Rainfall anomalies

Wetter than average conditions expected over most parts of Uganda, eastern South Sudan, southern, western, and north-eastern Sudan, northern Eritrea, north-eastern Ethiopia, and parts of central Somalia and Djibouti.
Drier than average conditions predicted over parts of south-eastern and western Sudan, western South Sudan, and central and western Ethiopia.

Exceptional rainfall

Extremely heavy (top 1%) rainfall expected over a few places in western and north-eastern Sudan, northern Eritrea, and north-eastern Ethiopia.
Heavy to very heavy (top 10-5%) rainfall expected over parts of central to southern Sudan, northern Ethiopia, and Eritrea.

Mean temperatures

Hot conditions with temperatures above 32 ℃ expected over northern Sudan, the Afar region in Ethiopia, Djibouti, coastal Eritrea, and north-western coastal Somalia.
Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ expected over southern to central parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, south-eastern and north-eastern Ethiopia, northern and eastern Kenya, much of Uganda, and parts of south-eastern and north-western Tanzania.
Cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ expected in central to western Ethiopia, parts of southern Uganda, south-western to central Kenya, western Rwanda and Burundi, and central parts of Tanzania.

Total rainfall

Heavy rainfall (above 200 mm) predicted over a few places in southern Sudan and north-western Eritrea.
Moderate rainfall (50-200 mm) expected over southern to central Sudan, most parts of South Sudan, central to northern Ethiopia, northern Eritrea, most parts of Uganda, and parts of western Kenya.
Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over parts of eastern and northern Tanzania, Rwanda, coastal and central Kenya, most parts of Somalia, central to northern Sudan, south-eastern Ethiopia, and Djibouti.
Dry conditions expected over Burundi, most parts of Tanzania, eastern and northern Kenya, south-eastern Ethiopia, and parts of northern Somalia.
