Temperature
Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over Tanzania, eastern Kenya, southern Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi, western to northern Ethiopia and south-western Sudan.
- Drier than usual conditions expected over southern and eastern Ethiopia, central South Sudan, northwestern Kenya and most parts of Uganda.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures forecast over most of Sudan, South Sudan, central to southern Somalia, most of Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, western and eastern Kenya, and Tanzania.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over north-eastern Kenya and isolated areas of Djibouti, western Ethiopia, and northern Somalia.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10%-5%) expected over eastern parts of Kenya, coastal and northern Tanzania.
Mean temperatures
- Hot temperatures (above 32℃) expected over southern and south-eastern parts of Sudan and isolated areas of north-eastern Ethiopia.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20 - 32℃) expected over central to northern Sudan, central to southern South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, northern and eastern Kenya, Uganda, and most parts of Tanzania.
- Mild conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and isolated areas in southern and northern Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over parts of Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, eastern and southern Kenya, southern Somalia, and isolated areas in southern South Sudan.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over central and northern Somalia, western Ethiopia, central to northern South Sudan, central to eastern Uganda, and southern Sudan.
- Dry conditions expected over central to northern Sudan, most parts of Eritrea, eastern Ethiopia, northern Somalia, Djibouti, and north-western Kenya.
