Temperature anomalies

Warmer than average temperatures expected over parts of central to northern Sudan, isolated parts of western South Sudan, most parts of western Ethiopia, north-western Kenya, northern and south-western Tanzania, Rwanda, and parts of central to northern Uganda.
Near average temperatures expected over southern Sudan, northern South Sudan, eastern Kenya, most parts of Somalia, and parts of Tanzania.
Colder than average temperatures predicted over south-eastern Ethiopia, eastern South Sudan, coastal areas of Tanzania, Kenya, and Somalia.

Rainfall anomalies

Wetter than average conditions expected over most parts of South Sudan, southern and western Sudan, north-western Eritrea, central to northern Ethiopia, parts of Djibouti, north-eastern Uganda, and parts of western Kenya.
Drier than average conditions predicted over western South Sudan, central parts of Sudan, most parts of Uganda, and isolated areas in western and south-eastern Ethiopia.

Exceptional rainfall

Heavy to very heavy (top 10-5%) rainfall expected over parts of central to southern Sudan, central to northern Ethiopia, north-western Eritrea, and northern South Sudan.

Mean temperatures

Hot conditions (above 32 ℃) expected over northern Sudan, isolated areas in Afar regions of Ethiopia, coastal Eritrea, and north-western coastal Somalia.
Moderate temperatures (20 - 32 ℃) expected over southern to central Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, south-eastern and north-eastern Ethiopia, most parts of Djibouti, northern and eastern Kenya, much of Uganda and parts of south-eastern and north-western Tanzania.
Cold conditions (less than 20℃) expected in central to western Ethiopia, parts of southern Uganda, south-western to central Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and central parts of Tanzania.

Total rainfall

Heavy rainfall (above 200mm) predicted over a few places in southern Sudan, western South Sudan, and central to north-western areas of Ethiopia.
Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over southern to central Sudan, most parts of South Sudan, central to northern Ethiopia, northern Eritrea, northern Uganda, and parts of western Kenya.
Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over parts of eastern and northern Tanzania, central to southern Uganda, coastal and central to western Kenya, southern to central and northern Somalia, central to northern Sudan, south-eastern Ethiopia, most parts of Eritrea and Djibouti.
Dry conditions expected over Burundi, Rwanda, most parts of Tanzania, eastern and northern Kenya, south-eastern Ethiopia, and parts of central to northern Somalia.
