Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, central to southern parts of Sudan, northern and central Somalia, most parts of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and western Kenya.
- Drier than usual conditions expected over eastern Kenya, and eastern and southern Tanzania.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures forecasted over central Sudan, South Sudan, most parts of Tanzania, coastal Kenya and, central and northern Somalia.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over northern and southern Sudan, South Sudan, and western Ethiopia.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10%-5%) rainfall expected over western parts of Kenya, most parts of Ethiopia except the western parts, central and northern parts of Somalia, Rwanda, isolated parts of Eritrea, isolated areas in Sudan, and cross-border areas of Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and, South Sudan.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate to high temperatures (20 - 32℃) expected over Sudan, South Sudan, most parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, northern and eastern Kenya, Uganda, and most parts of Tanzania.
- Mild conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and isolated areas in southern and northern Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Heavy Rainfall (greater than 200mm) expected over isolated parts of central Kenya, western South Sudan and central Ethiopia.
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over parts of Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, north-western Tanzania, western and north-western Kenya, central to southern and northern Somalia; South Sudan, Ethiopia, and isolated areas in southern Sudan.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over parts of Tanzania, parts of Sudan and central to north-eastern Somalia.
- Dry conditions expected over central to northern Sudan, eastern Kenya and central to southern Tanzania.
