Temperature

Exceptional rainfall
- Rainfall amounts exceeding the top 10% on record expected over isolated areas in western Ethiopia, as well as southern and south-western Sudan.

Floods Update
- The expected heavy rainfall over parts of Western Ethiopia is likely to lead to flooding in these areas.
- Communities in the areas at risk are advised to exercise caution during this period as indicated above.

Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over parts of south-western Sudan, western Ethiopia and southern Somalia.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over South Sudan, Uganda and central to northern Ethiopia.

Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected across the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA).

Mean temperatures
- High temperatures (above 32℃) expected over most parts of central to northern Sudan, Djibouti, Eritrea, north-eastern Ethiopia, and parts of north-western Somalia.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over South Sudan, Uganda, Somalia, eastern and northern Kenya, and coastal and north-western Tanzania.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over Rwanda, Burundi, and parts of central to southern Tanzania, central to western Kenya and central to southern Ethiopia.

Heat Stress
- Elevated levels of heat stress expected in central to northern Sudan, parts of Eritrea, Djibouti and north-western Somalia.

Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over parts of central to north-western South Sudan, western Ethiopia, southern to south-western Sudan, southern coastal Somalia, and mall part of Lake Victoria Basin in Kenya.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected in central Sudan, most parts of South Sudan, Uganda, western and eastern Kenya, central to southern Somalia, central Ethiopia, and western Eritrea.
