Temperature

Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected most parts of Tanzania, northern and western South Sudan, western Ethiopia, south-western Somalia and coastal regions of Kenya.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over parts of western Kenya, central and southern Tanzania and eastern Uganda.

Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the GHA.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over parts of eastern Kenya, and other isolated areas across the GHA.

- Rainfall exceeding the 90th percentile expected over parts of northern and eastern Tanzania.

Mean temperatures
- High temperatures (> 32℃) expected over parts of eastern and northern South Sudan, and southern and south-eastern regions of Sudan.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of the Ethiopian Highlands, central to western Kenya, western Rwanda, and most parts of Burundi.

Heat Stress
- Elevated heat stress levels expected to peak in northern and eastern regions of South Sudan, and southern regions of Sudan. Eastern regions of Kenya and Tanzania, together with south-western Somalia are also expected to experience heat stress reaching the ‘Extreme Caution’ category.

Total rainfall
- Heavy rainfall (> 200mm) expected over the southern parts of Tanzania.
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected in most parts of Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and parts of south-western Uganda, western South Sudan, south-western Ethiopia, coastal regions of Kenya and southern Somalia.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over parts of eastern South Sudan, central to north-western Uganda, western Ethiopia, southern and eastern Kenya, and south-western Somalia.
