Temperature
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected in Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Sudan, central to northern Somalia, much of South Sudan, western Kenya, and parts of western and southern Tanzania.
- Cooler than usual temperatures predicted over parts of central and north-western Sudan, eastern Kenya, south-eastern South Sudan, and north-eastern Tanzania.
Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over southern Somalia, eastern Kenya, western Uganda, Rwanda, and parts of central Tanzania.
- Drier than usual conditions forecasted over western and southern parts of Kenya, Burundi, and most parts of Tanzania.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy (top 10-5%) rainfall is expected in eastern Kenya extending to southern Somalia and central Tanzania.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate temperatures (20 - 32 ℃) expected over most parts of Sudan, Djibouti, South Sudan, central to northern Uganda, northern and eastern Kenya, and most parts of Tanzania, Somalia, and Eritrea.
- Cold conditions (less than 20℃) expected in parts of north-western Sudan, southern to northern Ethiopia, southern Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, central to western Kenya, a few places in northern Somalia, and isolated areas in Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over eastern Kenya, southern Somalia, central to western Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and south-western Uganda.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over coastal Sudan, parts of central to southern South Sudan, southern Ethiopia, central to northern Somalia, western Kenya, north-western and south-eastern Uganda, and parts of southern and eastern Tanzania.
- Dry conditions expected over most parts of Sudan, northern South Sudan, Djibouti, central to northern Ethiopia, Eritrea, and north-western Somalia.
