Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over southern Sudan, north-western South Sudan, central to northern Ethiopia, northern and coastal Somalia, isolated parts in Eritrea, western Kenya into eastern and northern Uganda.
- Drier than usual conditions expected over most parts of Uganda, South Sudan, and few regions over southern Ethiopia.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures predicted over the northern parts of Sudan, most parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over southern Sudan, and isolated regions in central Ethiopia, northern Somalia, and central Kenya.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10%-5%) expected over isolated areas in northern South Sudan extending to southern Sudan, western, south-eastern and northern Ethiopia.
Mean temperatures
- Hot temperatures (above 32 ℃) expected over central and eastern parts of Sudan, north-western parts of Eritrea, and Afar region of north-eastern Ethiopia.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20 - 32℃) expected over western and north-eastern Sudan, South Sudan, much of Uganda, most parts of Tanzania, eastern and northern Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, western and eastern parts of Ethiopia.
- Mild conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, a few regions in central Tanzania, and south-western Uganda.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over southern coastal Somalia, central to western Ethiopia, southern Sudan, central to western South Sudan, and isolated areas in western Kenya and Uganda.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over central and eastern Sudan, south-eastern South Sudan, Eritrea, most parts of Uganda, northern and southern Ethiopia, most parts of Somalia, Rwanda, coastal and western Kenya, and coastal and southern Tanzania.
- Dry conditions expected over central to northern Sudan, eastern and northern Kenya, eastern Rwanda, much of Burundi, and central to western Tanzania.
