Rainfall
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in southern Ethiopia, in several parts of Somalia in isolated parts of western and central Uganda, in part of northwestern South Sudan, in central to eastern Sudan, and in southern Tanzania.
Moderate to extremely wet rainfall conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in northeastern parts of South Sudan, in western, central and northeastern parts of Ethiopia, in parts of Djibouti and western Eritrea, in parts of northwestern Somalia, in northeastern Uganda, in parts of northwestern, western and southern Kenya, in northwestern and northeastern Tanzania, and in Rwanda and Burundi.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Drier than usual and much drier than usual conditions were observed in several parts of Somalia, in southern and southeastern Ethiopia, in northeastern Kenya, in southern Tanzania, and in central to eastern Sudan.
Wetter than usual and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in western, central and northeastern Ethiopia, in parts of northwestern Somalia, in northeastern Uganda extending to northwestern Kenya, in central Rwanda, in several parts of Burundi, and in northwestern and northeastern Tanzania
No rain condition was observed in the northern parts of Sudan.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Moderate to high rainfall amounts of exceeding 500mm was observed in a few isolated parts of western and central Kenya, in much of Burundi, and in parts of northwestern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall amounts of between 201-500mm were observed in western and southwestern Ethiopia, in southwestern and southern parts of South Sudan in several parts of Uganda and Rwanda, and in western, central and southeastern Kenya.
Light rainfall between 11 - 200 mm was observed in southern parts of Sudan, in several parts of Eritrea, Djibouti, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia, in northern Kenya, and in central and southern Tanzania.
No rainfall or less than 10mm was observed in northern and central Sudan.
