Rainfall
Moderately wet to extremely wet conditions
- Observed in much of Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda and eastern Burundi, in several parts of western, central and southern Kenya, in northern, central to southwestern parts of Tanzania, eastern Rwanda and Burundi, much of Uganda, several parts of Kenya, and in southern parts of South Sudan.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions
- Observed in the south-eastern tip of Tanzania, and in a few pocket areas in South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
Usual rainfall and no rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Much Wetter than usual conditions
- Observed in most areas in Rwanda and Uganda, in northeastern Burundi, , in eastern lowlands to western parts of Kenya, southern parts of South Sudan, in northern Tanzania, and a few pockets in Ethiopia.
Wetter than usual conditions
- Observed in northern, central and southwestern Tanzania, regions surrounding the much wetter than usual condition of Burundi and Rwanda, southern parts of South Sudan, a few pockets in northwestern Ethiopia and regions surrounding the much wetter usual rainfall regions in Kenya.
Drier to much drier than usual conditions
- Observed in southeastern parts of Tanzania, , and in southern central to northeastern parts of Ethiopia.
Usual or no rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
High Rainfall exceeding 200mm
- Observed in southwestern parts and in pockets of central and north-eastern Tanzania, and in a few areas in the eastern parts of Burundi, and northern parts of Rwanda and western Kenya.
Moderate rainfall of between 101mm and 200mm
- Observed in the southern parts of the region including Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, southern Uganda and western Kenya.
Light rainfall between 11 and 100 mm
- Observed in southern parts of South Sudan extending to the northern to central parts of Uganda, in southwestern to central parts of Ethiopia. In the northwestern, central to southeastern Kenya, and in coastal parts of Tanzania.
Little or No rain conditions not exceeding 10mm
- Observed in eastern Kenya, eastern and north-western and northern Ethiopia, and in much of Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Sudan and northern and central South Sudan.
