Observed rainfall conditions for April 2022
Rainfall

Moderate to heavy rainfall between over 200 mm was observed in a few area in southwest Ethiopia in eastern and western parts of Lake Victoria, in central parts of Kenya, and in eastern and southwestern parts of Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall between 100 - 200 mm observed in southwest and southern Ethiopia southwestern parts of South Sudan, over much of northwestern, central and southern Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, western and central Kenya, and northwestern, eastern and southern Tanzania.
Light rainfall between 10 - 100 mm observed over much of Eritrea, northern, central and eastern Ethiopia, much of South Sudan, northwest, central and southern Somalia, northeastern Uganda, much of northern eastern and coastal Kenya, and over much of central Tanzania.
Dry conditions (usual during this time of the year) in most of Sudan, western Eritrea, Djibouti, northeastern Somalia, and in parts of eastern Kenya

Wetter than usual conditions observed in northwest and eastern South Sudan, western Ethiopia, in an area in southwest Uganda, and northwest and southern Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions observed over western Eritrea, in northern, central and southeastern parts of South Sudan, northwest and southwestern parts of Ethiopia, in eastern and much of western Uganda, in much of western and central part of Kenya, western Rwanda, over several parts of Burundi, and in western, northeastern and eastern parts of Tanzania.
Moderately drier than usual conditions observed in Djibouti, Somalia, southern Eritrea, in southwestern part of South Sudan, northern, central and southeastern Uganda, in much of eastern Kenya, and in northwestern and central parts of Tanzania.
Much drier than usual conditions observed in a few isolated areas in northeast Ethiopia, and northern Somalia.

Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in northwest and eastern parts of South Sudan, extending to western parts of Ethiopia, southwest Uganda, eastern Rwanda, and in a few areas in northwest and southern Tanzania
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in north-central, central and southeastern South Sudan, in northwest, Ethiopia, over much of western and central Eritrea, in northeast and southwestern parts of Uganda, in quite a lot of the areas in northwest, western and central Kenya, over much of central and eastern Rwanda, northwest Burundi, and in much of western, central and coastal Tanzania.
