Rainfall

- Very Heavy rainfall (above 1000 mm) observed in isolated area in highlands of central Ethiopia.
- Heavy rainfall (between 500-1000 mm) observed over most parts of western, south-western and eastern South Sudan; most parts of western, central and northern Ethiopia;
highlands of western Kenya, central Uganda and Jabel Mara in western Sudan. - Moderate rainfall (between 200-500 mm) observed in most parts of southern and central Sudan, central and north-eastern South Sudan, most parts of Uganda, and north Eritrea.
- Light rainfall (between 50-200 mm) observed in south-western Uganda, coastal parts of western Kenya, southern coast of Somalia, and most parts of Djibouti.
- Rainfall range (between 10-50 mm) observed over northern Sudan, coastal Eritrea; southern, north-western and north-eastern Kenya; eastern Rwanda, southern and western Burundi, and eastern Tanzania.
- Dry (usually in this time of season) conditions observed in far northern Sudan, south-eastern Ethiopia, northern Somalia, most parts of lower and upper north-eastern Kenya, and most parts of Tanzania.

- Much wetter than normal (extremely wetter than usual) conditions observed in most parts of western and eastern Sudan, and isolated areas in south Ethiopia.
- Wetter than normal conditions observed in central and north-eastern Sudan, southern Eretria, south-western and north-eastern Ethiopia, eastern South Sudan, and western Kenya.
- Normal rainfall conditions (usual average conditions) conditions observed in most parts of southern Sudan, most parts of South Sudan, western and northern Ethiopia, north-western Eritrea, and north and south Uganda.
- Moderate dry (drier than usual) conditions observed in most parts of eastern Rwanda and north-eastern Burundi.
