Rainfall
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions
- Dominated most parts of the region including several parts of Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, pockets in Eritrea and Sudan.
Moderate wet to extremely wet rainfall conditions
- Observed in southern tip of Tanzania, pockets in Kenya, pockets in Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Sudan.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Drier than and much drier than usual conditions
- These conditions were observed in Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, pockets in Ethiopia, South Sudan, pockets in Sudan, and pockets in Eritrea.
Wetter and much wetter than usual conditions
- Observed in southern tip of Tanzania, pockets in eastern parts of Kenya, pockets in Ethiopia, Djibouti, pockets in Sudan and Eritrea.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.
Moderate to high rainfall amounts (>500mm)
- Observed in the southern, northwestern and coastal parts of Tanzania, Uganda, western South Sudan, Kenya, southern parts of Somalia, and western parts of Ethiopia.

- Observed in Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, southern parts of Somalia, western, central to southeastern parts of Ethiopia, South Sudan.

- Observed in central to western Tanzania, several parts of Kenya, Ethiopia, several parts of Somalia, pockets in South Sudan, southern parts of Sudan, Djibouti and Eritrea.
No rainfall or less than 10mm
- Observed mostly in the northern parts Sudan.
