Rainfall
Moderate to high rainfall amounts (>500mm)
- Observed in the southwestern parts of Tanzania, much of Burundi, Rwanda, western parts of Kenya.
Moderate rainfall amounts (201-500mm)
- Observed in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and southern Ethiopia.
Light rainfall between (11-200mm)
- Observed in northern parts of Uganda, northern and eastern parts of Kenya, several parts of Ethiopia, most parts of South Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea.
No rainfall or less than 10mm
- Observed in most parts of Sudan, and a few pockets in northwestern Ethiopia.
Moderately wet to extremely wet rainfall conditions
- Observed in most parts of the region including Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, southern parts of Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti and eastern Eritrea.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions
- Observed in the southeastern tip of Tanzania, some pockets in central Somalia, northern Ethiopia and northwestern Eritrea.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Wetter and much wetter than usual conditions
- Observed in several parts of the region including northern parts of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, most parts of South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, a few areas in Eritrea as well as the southern parts of Sudan.
Drier than and much drier than usual conditions
- Observed in very few areas including pockets in southern Tanzania, central Somalia, and a few pockets in northern Ethiopia.
Normal rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.
