Rainfall
Moderate to high rainfall amounts (>500 mm)
- Observed in the western parts of Ethiopia and western parts of South Sudan.
Moderate rainfall amounts (201-500 mm)
- Observed western parts of Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and southern parts of Sudan and Eritrea.
Light rainfall between 11 and 200 mm
- Observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, and Sudan.
No rainfall or less than 10 mm
Observed mostly in the northern parts of Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya, and Somalia.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions
- These conditions prevailed across much of the region, including several parts of Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania.
Moderate wet to extremely wet rainfall conditions
- These conditions were observed in localized areas of Tanzania, eastern parts of Kenya, Somalia, and southeastern parts of Ethiopia.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Drier than and much drier than usual conditions
- These conditions prevailed across most parts of the region, affecting all countries in Greater Horn Africa.
Wetter and much wetter than usual conditions
- These conditions were not observed in the region.
