Rainfall
Moderate to high rainfall amounts (>500mm)
- Observed in the southern and coastal parts of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and southwestern parts of Ethiopia.
Moderate rainfall amounts (201-500mm)
- Observed in Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, southern parts of Somalia, central to southern parts of Ethiopia and western South Sudan.
Light rainfall between (11-200mm)
- Observed in northern parts of Kenya, Ethiopia, several parts of Somalia, northern South Sudan, Sudan, Djibouti and Eritrea.
No rainfall or less than 10mm
Observed mostly in the northern parts Sudan.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions
- Observed in northwestern Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, western Sudan, several parts of Sudan, and the Horn of Africa region.
Moderate wet to extremely wet rainfall conditions
- Observed in most parts across the region including much of Tanzania, most parts of Kenya, most parts of Ethiopia, Djibouti, some parts of Eritrea and southern Somalia.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Drier than and much drier than usual conditions
- These conditions were observed in a few parts of South Sudan, Sudan, and the Horn of Africa region.
Wetter and much wetter than usual conditions
- Dominated most parts of Kenya, a few pockets in southern Somalia, pockets in Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, patches in Sudan, and in Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.
