Observed rainfall conditions for April to June(AMJ) 2024
Rainfall

High rainfall amounts exceeding 1000mm was observed in a few areas in central Kenya.
Moderate to high rainfall amounts of between 500-1000mm were observed in southwestern Ethiopia, in western and central parts of Kenya, and in parts of southeastern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall between 100 - 500 mm was observed in several parts of South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, in central and southern Somalia, in parts of northeastern, coastal, central and western Kenya, and in northern and western Tanzania.
Light rainfall between 10 - 100 mm was observed in southern parts of Sudan, in several part of Eritrea, Djibouti, northern Somalia, northeastern Ethiopia, eastern Kenya, and in central and southwestern Tanzania.
No rainfall or less than 10mm was observed in central and northern parts of Sudan.

Wetter than usual and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in southeastern Sudan, western Eritrea, in several parts of Djibouti. In central and southwestern parts of Somalia, in southern and southeastern Ethiopia, in several parts of Kenya, and in parts of western, central, southeastern and north-central Tanzania.
Drier than usual and much drier than usual conditions were observed in several parts of central Sudan, in central parts of Eritrea, in northeastern Somalia, in parts of western Uganda, and central Ethiopia.
No rain condition was observed in northern Sudan.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.

Moderately dry to extremely dry conditions were observed in several parts of South Sudan and Uganda, in central and south-central parts of Sudan, in northwestern and central Eritrea, in northeastern Somalia, in western and central Ethiopia, in a few areas of coastal Kenya, southern Burundi, and northeastern Tanzania.
Moderate to extremely wet rainfall conditions were observed southeastern Sudan extending to western Eritrea, in several parts of Djibouti, in southern and southeastern Ethiopia extending into central and southwestern Somalia, in several parts of Kenya, in part of northern Burundi, and in parts of western, central, north-central and southeastern Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
