Observed rainfall conditions for February to April (FMA) 2024
Rainfall

High rainfall amounts exceeding 1000mm was observed in the southern parts of Tanzania.
Rainfall amounts of between 500-1000mm were observed in southwestern part of Ethiopia, in western and central parts of Kenya, in southern and western Burundi, and in western and southern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall between 100 - 500 mm was observed in central and southern Ethiopia, in southern South Sudan, in Uganda, Kenya, central and southern Somalia, Rwanda, eastern Burundi, and in northern, northeastern and central Tanzania.
Light rainfall between 10 - 100 mm was observed in western and southern Eritrea, in much of Djibouti, in northern and central South Sudan, in northwestern and northeastern Ethiopia, and in northern and parts of central Somalia,
Dry conditions of no rainfall less than 10mm was observed in much of Sudan, in western Eritrea, and in parts of northeastern Somalia.

Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in Djibouti, in southern parts of Eritrea, in central and southern Somalia, in parts of northeast, central, southern and southeastern Ethiopia, in southeastern South Sudan, in several parts of northern, central, eastern and south-central Kenya, in northeastern Uganda, and in western and southern parts of Tanzania.
Drier than and much drier than usual conditions were observed in western parts of Eritrea, in southern parts of Sudan, in northern and western and southwestern South Sudan, in northwestern Ethiopia, in northeastern Somalia, and in northwestern Uganda.
No rain condition was observed in several parts of Sudan.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the Region.

Moderate to extremely wet rainfall conditions were observed in Djibouti, in parts of southern Eritrea, in northeastern, central, southern and southeastern Ethiopia, in central and southern Somalia, in southeastern South Sudan, in northwestern, northeastern, eastern, central, western and south-central parts of Kenya, in eastern parts of Uganda, in southern Burundi, and in western and southern parts of Tanzania.
Moderately dry to extremely dry conditions were observed in western and central Eritrea, in northeastern Somalia, in northwestern parts of Ethiopia, in southern parts of Sudan, in northern, western and southwestern parts of South Sudan, in much of western Uganda, and in eastern parts of Rwanda.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
