Rainfall

Heavy rainfall exceeding 200mm was observed in central parts of Kenya and in part of southwestern Tanzania.
Moderate to heavy rainfall of between 51-200 mm was observed in central Eritrea, in southern Ethiopia, in northern, eastern, central, western and southern coast of Kenya, in southern Somalia, in southwestern Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, and in northern, western, eastern and parts of southern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall of between 26 - 50 mm was observed in western and southern parts of South Sudan, in central parts of Ethiopia, in several parts of Uganda, in northwestern and southeastern Kenya, in northern and western Rwanda, and in parts of northeastern Tanzania.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in western and southern Eritrea, in parts of northeastern, western and eastern Ethiopia, in parts of northern, central and eastern South Sudan, in central and northwest Somalia, and in central parts of Tanzania
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in much of Sudan, western Eritrea, in parts of Djibouti, northwestern and eastern parts of Ethiopia, in parts of northern South Sudan, and in northern Somalia.

Moderately wet to extremely wet conditions were observed in the northern, central, eastern and parts of western Kenya, in northeastern and eastern South Sudan, in northwestern, western and coastal parts of Tanzania, in southern Somalia, in much of Djibouti, in central and southern Eritrea, and in northeastern, central and southern parts of Ethiopia.
Moderately dry to extremely dry conditions were observed in a few areas in northeastern Somalia, southwestern Uganda, and in parts of eastern and southwestern Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions and no rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.

Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in much of Djibouti, in central and southern parts of Eritrea, in northwestern and southern Somalia, in parts of northeastern, central and southern Ethiopia, in northwestern and western South Sudan, in several parts of north, central, eastern and coastal Kenya, in the areas round Lake Victoria, and in parts of northwestern, and coastal Tanzania.
Drier than and much drier than usual conditions were observed in a few places such as northeastern Somalia, parts of northwestern and eastern Ethiopia, in parts of central and southwestern South Sudan, in part of northwestern and southwestern Uganda, and in parts of central, eastern and southwestern Tanzania.
Near Normal and no rainfall conditions were observed in of the rest of the region including Sudan, western Eritrea, northwestern and southern parts of South Sudan, in western, northwestern, and eastern parts of Ethiopia, in several parts of Uganda, in western and southern Kenya, in much of Rwanda and Burundi, and in parts of north and western Tanzania.
