Rainfall
Drier than and much drier than usual conditions were observed in western, central and southern parts of South Sudan, in several parts of Eritrea, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Djibouti, in the northern and central Burundi, in eastern Ethiopia, and in central, southeastern and coastal parts of Kenya.
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in central and southwestern Ethiopia extending to northern Kenya and southcentral part of Kenya.
No rainfall condition was observed in much of Sudan, Somalia, in northern parts of South Sudan, western Eritrea, in northwestern and eastern Ethiopia, and in southern Djibouti.
Moderate to high rainfall exceeding 100mm was recorded in southwestern Ethiopia.
Moderate rainfall of between 26-100 mm was observed in southwestern Ethiopia, in western and central parts of Kenya, in parts of southwestern and southeastern Uganda, in western Rwanda, southern Burundi, and in northwestern, western and southern Tanzania.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in southern parts of South Sudan, in central and parts of western Ethiopia, in eastern, central and southern Uganda, in northern, central and southeastern Kenya, in eastern, Rwanda, northern Burundi, and in northern, central and northeastern Tanzania.
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in the rest of the region.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in western, central to southern parts of South Sudan, in several parts of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania.
Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in central and southwestern Ethiopia extending to northern Kenya.
