Rainfall

Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in several parts of Eritrea and Djibouti, in much of the central western to eastern Sudan, in northeastern part of Ethiopia, in central and parts of southern South Sudan, in western, and northeastern Uganda, and in parts of northwestern Kenya.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in southeastern and southwestern parts of Sudan, in northwestern and eastern parts of South Sudan, in northwestern, western and central parts of Ethiopia, in parts of southeastern Somalia, and coastal Kenya.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.

Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in central, western and eastern Sudan, in several parts of Eritrea and Djibouti, in central and southern parts of South Sudan, in northeastern Ethiopia, in western and northeastern Uganda, and in northwestern Kenya.
Drier than usual conditions were observed in southeastern and parts of southwestern and south-central Sudan, in eastern and southern parts of South Sudan, in parts of western and southern Ethiopia, in southeastern Somalia, in western and northern Burundi, in several parts of Rwanda, in central and southeastern Kenya, and in coastal and northern Tanzania.
No rainfall condition was observed in the northern parts of Sudan, in northern, central and southwestern Somalia, in eastern and southern parts of Ethiopia, in northern, eastern, central and south-central Kenya, and in several parts of Burundi and Tanzania.
Near Normal were observed much of the rest of the Region.

Rainfall of exceeding 100 mm was observed in a few isolated parts in western Sudan, and northern and northwestern Ethiopia.
Moderate rainfall of between 26-100 mm was observed in much of the central to southern parts of Sudan, in western Eritrea, in several parts of Djibouti, in northern, northeastern, western and central Ethiopia, in much of South Sudan and Uganda, and in western parts of Kenya.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in the northern margins of central Sudan, in coastal and central Eritrea, in parts of northeastern Ethiopia, in coastal Djibouti, in coastal Kenya, in southwestern Uganda, and in northern and western Rwanda.
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in the rest of the region.
