Rainfall

- Moderate to heavy rainfall between 100 - 200 mm observed in north-western to central parts of Ethiopia.
- Moderate rainfall between 50 - 100 mm observed in south-western, south-central and south-eastern parts of Sudan, south-western Eritrea, western parts of Ethiopia; western, central and eastern South Sudan; in isolated parts of central and south-western Uganda, and in isolated parts in western highlands of Kenya.
- Light rainfall between 25 - 50 mm observed in much of the southern parts of Sudan, western Eritrea, north-eastern and southern parts of South Sudan, central parts of Ethiopia, northern and eastern Uganda, and over western parts of Kenya.
- Rainfall between 5 - 25 mm observed over central parts of Eritrea, parts of Djibouti, eastern margins of central Ethiopia, southern Somalia, north-western and coastal Kenya, and in central parts of Uganda, and around Lake Victoria region of Uganda.
- Usual dry (usually dry in this time of season) conditions almost everywhere in northern parts of Sudan, northern and central Somalia, southern and south-eastern Ethiopia; over much of northern, eastern and southern Kenya; and south-western Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania.

- Much wetter than usual conditions observed in central parts of Sudan, central Eritrea, in isolated parts of northern Ethiopia, north-western Somalia, and eastern Djibouti.
- Wetter than usual conditions observed in northern Ethiopia.
- Usual rainfall conditions observed in much of the southern part of Sudan, western Eritrea, western Ethiopia, much of South Sudan, central and eastern Uganda, western parts of Kenya, and southern Somalia.
- Moderately drier than usual conditions observed in a few isolated parts in western and south-eastern Sudan, few parts of north-eastern South Sudan, in central Ethiopia, southern Uganda, north-western Kenya, and isolated parts of coastal Kenya.
- Much drier than usual conditions was not observed in any part of the region.
