Rainfall
Drier than usual conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in western Eritrea, in several parts of northern, southern and central South Sudan, in central southern and eastern Ethiopia, in several parts of Somalia, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, and Kenya, and in northern, western, southern and coastal parts of Tanzania.
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in northeastern Ethiopia, and in northeastern part of Somalia.
Near Normal and no rainfall conditions were observed in western and eastern parts of South Sudan, in parts of western Eritrea, in northern and western parts of Ethiopia, in part of central and southwestern Kenya, and in eastern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall of between 51-100 mm was observed in western parts of Ethiopia, and in parts of western and central Kenya.
Moderate rainfall of between 26 - 50 mm was observed in much of the western parts of South Sudan, in parts of eastern South Sudan, in western and northwestern Ethiopia, in small part of northwestern Uganda, in western and central parts of Kenya, and in coastal parts of Tanzania.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in parts of western Eritrea, in northern, central and southern parts of South Sudan, in northern, central, southwestern and eastern parts of Ethiopia, in parts of northern and southern Somalia, in much of Uganda, in western, central and coastal parts of Kenya, in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, and in northern and eastern parts of Tanzania.
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in much of Sudan, Djibouti, in western, central and southern parts of Eritrea, in northeastern, central and southwestern Somalia, in much of northern, eastern and southeastern Kenya, in eastern Rwanda, in southern Burundi, and in much of western, northwestern, central and southern Tanzania.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in parts of northern and western Ethiopia, in much of northern, western, central and south-central South Sudan, in northern and eastern parts of Uganda, in much of Burundi, in parts of southern Somalia and southeastern Kenya, and in northwestern and western parts of Tanzania.
Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in southern and eastern Ethiopia, in northwestern and central parts of Somalia, in several parts of Kenya, and in southern parts of Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions and no rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.
