Rainfall

Moderate to high rainfall of between 26-200mm was recorded in many parts of South Sudan, in western Ethiopia, in in northern, central and eastern Uganda, in western, central and coastal Kenya, in western and central Rwanda, in southern Burundi, and in eastern parts and coastal parts of Tanzania.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in the southern parts of Sudan, in a areas in western Eritrea, in northern South Sudan, in central and eastern parts of Ethiopia, in northwestern and southeastern Somalia, in western and southwestern Uganda, in some parts of central Kenya, eastern Rwanda, northern Burundi, and in northern and northwestern Tanzania

Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in the southwestern parts of Sudan extending to northwestern and southwestern South Sudan and much of western and central Uganda, in the northeastern, eastern and southeastern Ethiopia extending to several parts of Somalia, in central parts of Eritrea, and in southeastern parts of Kenya.
Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in southeastern Sudan extending to western and southwestern Ethiopia and eastern South Sudan, in western and central parts of Kenya, in southern Burundi, and in western, eastern and southern parts of Tanzania.
Much of the rest of the region recorded near normal rainfall.

Drier than and much drier than usual conditions were observed in western and central Eritrea, in northern, central, southern and eastern Ethiopia, in Somalia, northern eastern and coastal Kenya, in northwestern and southwestern South Sudan, in much of western and central Uganda, in eastern parts of Rwanda, northern Burundi, and a few isolated parts in central and northwestern Tanzania.
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in southeastern Sudan extending to western Ethiopia and eastern South Sudan, in western and central parts of Kenya, in southern Burundi, and in western, eastern and southern parts of Tanzania.
Near normal rainfall condition was observed in much of the rest of the region.
