Rainfall

Moderately to severely wet conditions were observed in a several parts of South Sudan, in western parts of Sudan, in a few areas in western Ethiopia, in much of northern and central parts of Uganda in western Kenya, and in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi.
Moderately to severely dry conditions were observed in parts of northern, eastern and southern Ethiopia, in northwest and southern parts of Somalia, in coastal parts of Kenya and in eastern Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.

Wetter than usual conditions were observed in several parts of South Sudan, in much of northern and central parts of Uganda, eastern Sudan, in western parts of Kenya, and in much of Rwanda and Burundi.
Drier than usual conditions were observed in parts of central Sudan, in parts of western and southern Eritrea, in coastal parts of Djibouti, in northern eastern and southern Ethiopia, in northwestern and southern parts of Somalia, in coastal parts of Kenya, and in eastern Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed in much of the southern parts of Sudan, in northwestern and northeastern parts of South Sudan, in much of the northwestern, western, and central Ethiopia, and in southern parts of Uganda.
No rainfall conditions were observed in the northern and central parts of Sudan, in coastal and central parts of Eritrea, in coastal Djibouti, in several parts of Somalia, in eastern and southern parts of Ethiopia, in northern, central, and southern parts of Kenya, and in several parts of Tanzania.

Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm was observed in parts of western Ethiopia, and southern parts of South Sudan.
Moderate to heavy rainfall of between 26 - 100 mm was observed in the most southern parts of Sudan, in much of South Sudan, in northwestern, western and central Ethiopia, in much of Uganda, in western Kenya, and in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi.
Light rainfall of between 5 - 25 mm was observed in southern parts of Sudan, in south western Eritrea, in parts of Djibouti, in northeastern parts of Ethiopia, in central and parts of coastal Kenya, in southern parts of Burundi, and in northwestern Tanzania.
Usual dry rainfall was observed in much of central and northern Sudan, in northwestern, coastal, central and southern Eritrea, in parts of Djibouti, in northeastern, eastern and southern Ethiopia, in several parts of Somalia, in much of northern, eastern, central and coastal Kenya, and in much of Tanzania.
