Rainfall

Drier than to much drier than usual conditions were observed in several parts of South Sudan, in western, eastern and southern parts of Ethiopia, in several parts of Somalia, in several parts of northern and eastern Kenya, in western and southern parts of Uganda, and in parts of northern and central Tanzania.
Wetter than to much wetter than usual conditions were observed in parts of southern Eritrea and in Djibouti, in northwestern part of Somalia, in northeastern and central parts of Ethiopia, in central and south-central parts of Kenya, in southern Burundi, and in western and eastern parts of Tanzania.
Near Normal and no rainfall conditions were observed in of the rest of the region including Sudan, western Eritrea, northeastern Somalia, in parts of eastern and northwestern Ethiopia, in parts of northern South Sudan, in northwestern parts of Kenya.

Moderately wet to extremely wet conditions were observed in the southern parts of Burundi, in northwestern, western and eastern Tanzania, in central and south-central parts of Kenya, in central and southern Eritrea, in several parts of Djibouti, and in central to northeastern Ethiopia.
Moderately dry to extremely dry conditions were observed in northwestern, western and eastern parts fo South Sudan, in parts of southeastern Ethiopia, in parts of northern Kenya, in western and southern parts of Uganda, and in a few areas in central Somalia and northern Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions and no rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.

Moderate to heavy rainfall of between 51-200 mm was observed in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, in northwestern, western, eastern and southern Tanzania, in parts of southeastern Uganda, in parts of western and southern Kenya, and in a few parts of southwestern and central Ethiopia.
Moderate rainfall of between 26 - 50 mm was observed in in central to southwestern Ethiopia, in parts of central Eritrea, in several parts of Uganda, in western, central, coastal and southern parts of Kenya, and in northeastern and central parts of Tanzania.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in parts of Djibouti, central and southern Eritrea, in northeastern and parts of central and southwestern Ethiopia, in northwestern and southern parts of Somalia, in northeastern and western part of Uganda, in central and southern parts of South Sudan, and in northwestern and southeastern parts of Kenya, .
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in much of Sudan, western Eritrea, northwestern and eastern parts of Ethiopia, in northern South Sudan, in several parts of Somalia, in several parts of northern and northwestern Kenya.
