Rainfall
High Rainfall Accumulation Highest Rainfall (>100mm)
- These amounts were recorded in the southern parts of Tanzania including the southeastern coast.
Moderate to high Rainfall of between (26-100mm)
- These were observed southeastern and western parts of Tanzania, Burundi, a few parts in Rwanda, Uganda, central to western as well as northeastern parts of Kenya, a few pockets in South Sudan, several parts of Ethiopia, a few parts in Somalia and some pockets in Eritrea.
Moderate to Low Rainfall of between (6mm–25mm)
- These were observed in central Tanzania, a few pockets of Rwanda, Uganda, several parts of Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, and southern parts of Sudan.
Very Low or No Rain Very Low Rainfall (1–5mm)
- These were observed in southeast-northeast transect of Kenya, a few areas in Somalia, a few pockets in Djibouti, Eritrea and Sudan.
Wetter than Normal to much wetter than normal Conditions
- Much wetter than Normal: This category was observed in much of southern Tanzania, southern Burundi, southern parts of Uganda, western and northern parts of Kenya, Somalia, eastern Ethiopia, Djibouti and a few pockets in Eritrea.
- Wetter than Normal: This category was observed in areas surrounding the darkest green areas, covering most of countries highlighted above.
Near Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, western Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, much of western South Sudan.
Drier Than Normal Conditions
- These conditions were observed in a few pockets in central Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, eastern and northwestern Ethiopia, western Eritrea, much of South Sudan, and southern tip of Sudan.
No Rain
- Observed in the very northern and the dry parts of the region, particularly in Sudan, and northwestern South Sudan.
