Rainfall
High Rainfall Accumulation Highest Rainfall (>100mm)
- These amounts were recorded in western Ethiopia.
Moderate to high Rainfall of between (26-100mm)
- These were observed in much of the northern sector of the region including western Ethiopia, southern parts of Sudan, much of South Sudan, several parts of Uganda, western parts of Kenya, pockets in northwestern Tanzania and a few pockets along the coastal parts of Somalia.
Moderate to Low Rainfall of between (6mm–25mm)
- These were observed in northern parts of the region including southern parts of Sudan, western Eritrea, several parts of Ethiopia, northern and southern parts of Somalia, western parts of Kenya, several parts of Uganda, western Rwanda, and northwestern and the coastal parts of Tanzania.
Very Low or No Rain Very Low Rainfall (1–5mm)
- These were observed in several parts of Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea and Sudan.
Wetter than normal-to-much wetter than normal conditions
- Much wetter than normal: This category was observed along the border regions of Sudan, South Sudan and Ethiopia and a few pockets in northern and southern Somalia and pockets along the border between Uganda and South Sudan.
- Wetter than normal: This category was observed in areas surrounding the darkest green areas, covering most of countries highlighted above.
Near normal conditions
- Predominantly observed in Sudan, South Sudan, western Ethiopia, northern and southern Somalia, several parts of Uganda and western parts of Kenya.
Drier than normal-to-much drier conditions
- These conditions were observed in most parts of the region including Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Djibouti, Eritrea and Sudan.
No rain
- Observed in Tanzania, Kenya, northern and southeastern parts of Ethiopia, pockets in Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea and Sudan.
