Rainfall
High Rainfall Accumulation (101-300mm)
- High Rainfall (101-200mm): These amounts were recorded in a few pockets in southern Tanzania, and border regions of Kenya and Somalia.
Moderate to high Rainfall (26-100mm)
- These were observed over most parts of the region including in eastern and western Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, southwestern South Sudan, several parts of Ethiopia, southern Somalia, and a few parts in Eritrea.
Moderate to Low Rainfall of between (6mm–25mm)
- These were observed in most parts of South Sudan, southern Sudan, several parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, northwestern and southeastern parts of Kenya and central Tanzania.
- Very Low or No Rain Very Low Rainfall: These were observed in a few pockets in central Tanzania, the border region of Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan (Karamoja cluster), southern parts of Sudan, western Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, and northwestern Ethiopia.
Wetter than Normal to much wetter than normal Conditions
- Much wetter than Normal: This category was observed in the eastern and northwestern parts of Tanzania, southern parts of Uganda, eastern parts of Kenya, southern, central and northern Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and southern Somalia.
- Wetter than Normal: This category was observed in areas surrounding the darkest green areas including in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, and Somalia.
Near Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea.
Drier Than Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed in central parts of Tanzania, the Karamoja cluster region, much of South Sudan, southern parts of Sudan, western and eastern Ethiopia, western Eritrea, a few pockets in Somalia.
No Rain
- Observed in the very northern and the dry parts of the region, particularly in Sudan, a few pocket areas in eastern Ethiopia and pockets in southwestern Tanzania.
