Rainfall
Very High Rainfall Accumulation (201-300)
- Rainfall amounts between 201-300 mm were recorded in a few pockets in Kenya, including southern parts and the border region with Tanzania.
High Rainfall Accumulation Highest Rainfall (101–200mm)
- Rainfall amounts between 101 and 200 mm were recorded in western and central to southern parts of Kenya, northwestern Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi and southeastern coastal parts of Somalia.
Moderate to high Rainfall of between (26-100mm)
- These were observed in much of Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, southern parts of Somalia, most parts of Ethiopia especially the southern parts, southern parts of South Sudan, and western Eritrea.
Moderate to Low Rainfall of between (6mm–25mm)
- These were observed over southern parts of Tanzania, southeastern lowlands, northeastern and northern parts of Kenya, central and northern Ethiopia, several parts of Ethiopia, South Sudan, and several parts of Eritrea.
- Very Low or No Rain Very Low Rainfall (1–5mm): These were observed in much of the northern sectors of the region including much of northern parts of South Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, and the Horn region of Somalia.
Wetter Than Normal to much wetter than normal Conditions
- Much wetter than Normal: This category was observed in Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, southern Somalia, southern and southeastern parts of Ethiopia, southern South Sudan, western Eritrea.
- Wetter than Normal: This category was observed in areas surrounding the darkest green areas, covering most of countries highlighted above.
Near Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed in several parts of Tanzania, southeastern lowlands of Kenya, central parts of South Sudan, several parts of Ethiopia, around the Horn of Africa region in Somalia, and Eritrea.
Drier Than Normal Conditions
- Drier than Normal and Much Drier than Normal: These conditions were observed in southern parts of Tanzania, a few pockets in the southeastern parts of Kenya, Somalia, northern parts of Ethiopia, South Sudan, Djibouti and a few areas in western Eritrea.
Much Drier Than Normal Conditions
- These conditions were observed in a few pockets over the southwestern parts of Tanzania, a few pockets in Somalia, western Ethiopia, northern parts of South Sudan, and southern parts of Sudan.
No Rain
- Observed in the very northern and the dry parts of the region, particularly in Sudan.
