Rainfall
Moderate to high Rainfall of between (26-100mm)
- These were observed in a few pockets in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, western parts of South Sudan, a few pockets in the northern parts of Somalia, and several parts of Ethiopia.
Moderate to Low Rainfall of between (6mm–25mm)
- These were observed over southern parts of Tanzania, southeastern lowlands, northeastern and northern parts of Kenya, central and northern Ethiopia, several parts of Ethiopia, South Sudan, and several parts of Eritrea.
Very Low or No Rain Very Low Rainfall (1–5mm)
- These were observed in most parts of the region including Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Sudan, as well as a few pockets in Djibouti and Eritrea.
Wetter Than Normal to much wetter than normal Conditions
- Much wetter than Normal: This category was observed in a few pockets in Tanzania, much of the Horn of Africa area in Somalia, western parts of Ethiopia and a few pockets in Djibouti and Sudan.
- Wetter than Normal: This category was observed in areas surrounding the darkest green areas, covering most of countries highlighted above.
Near Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed in the northern and northeastern parts of Tanzania, southwestern and coastal parts of Kenya, a few pockets in Uganda, several parts of Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Djibouti and a few pockets of Sudan and Eritrea.
Drier Than Normal Conditions
- These conditions were predominant over the region including in Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, pockets in Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti.
Much Drier Than Normal Conditions
- These conditions were observed in southern parts of Tanzania, a few pockets in Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, northern parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea and Sudan.
No Rain
- Observed in Tanzania, Kenya and Sudan.
